Donald H. Hiett, Jr. B.S.Donald H. Hiett, Jr. is an internationally recognized expert in Incident Command and Management Systems with an unparalleled base of real world experience in Emergency Services for large-scale events, including the 1996 Olympic Games, Rodney King Riots, Federal Pen Riots, the Democratic Convention, aviation related incidents at the world's busiest airport Hartsfield International Airport, executive protection details for Nelson Mandela, Mikhail Gorbachev, along with US Presidents and other Heads of State. He possesses more than thirty five years' experience in Emergency Services and Life Safety, ultimately achieving the rank of Assistant Fire Chief with the Atlanta Fire Department from which he retired in March 1998. Today he is a member and Principle in the OSS Group, of Emergency Professionals.

Don has expertise in a broad range of Emergency Services disciplines, including Command Post Operations, Emergency Planning, EOC Operations, Incident Management, Emergency Medical Services, Mass Casualty Events, Firefighting, Aviation Incidents, Security, Tactical Operations, Hazardous Materials, Terrorism, Administration, and Public Relations. His degree is from St George University and is in Life Sciences.

Chief Hiett is widely published in peer journals and a frequent lecturer throughout the United States and Europe on a wide variety of subjects related to emergency response and management. Don also served on the Advisory Board for Mosby's First Due Programs, EMS Magazine and Responder Magazine. Today he is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for Public Venue Security Magazine, EJ Krause Global Homeland Security Executive Advisory Committee, and the Global Emergency Management Services Association.

Some of Don's significant achievements include the following activities:

Planned, organized and administered all emergency and other medical services for the July 1988 Democratic National Convention held in Atlanta, Georgia, and the Presidential Debates held in Atlanta and the surrounding Communities.
