Reasons to Exhibit
Navigate the Multi-Billion-Dollar Market
ulti-billion-dollar programs are being implemented as leaders of industry and government work together to bolster maritime security, while continuing to facilitate the flow of global commerce.
Nowhere is this national priority more evident - or the opportunities more abundant - than at the Maritime Security Conference & Exposition.
In 2008, after six successful years of being held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City, the Maritime Security Expo is shifting venues to Southern California - the hotbed of U.S. international trade.
Indeed, more than 60 percent of all containerized cargo coming into U.S. ports comes into the neighboring independent ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles. That's some 30,000 containers per day coming through the nation's two busiest
containerports.
It is little wonder, then, that there has been so much popular demand for the maritime security
industry's premier event to be held right where the majority of U.S. container trade takes place.
The 2008 edition of the Maritime Security Expo will be held Nov. 18-19 at the harborfront Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center, where E.J. Krause & Associates looks forward to putting
on the biggest and best industry event ever.
Increased participation from key global markets, including Asia, is anticipated, and the first-rate program is being expanded to include:
- Tabletop exercises;
- Additional training and simulation sessions;
- More workshops on the exhibit floor;
- An all-hazards forum; and
- Specialized port tours.

Of course, the Maritime Security Expo will continue to include:
- A blockbuster two-day conference with top leaders from government and industry;
- A luncheon honoring winners of the Distinguished Leadership Award in Maritime and Supply Chain Security;
- An expanded pre-conference procurement and business opportunities day for conference participants (on Monday, Nov. 17); and
- An exhibit floor brimming with the latest technologies from industry and government.
Maritime security continues to grow as a national priority, with the implementation of such programs as the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), the Container Security Initiative (CSI), an expanded Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), Customs and Border Protection's 10+2 data-filing program, and other U.S. Department of Homeland Security efforts under the Security and Accountability For Every Port Act of 2006 (SAFE Port Act).
Ever since the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001, maritime security has necessarily been a major concern in the United States and beyond. Protecting the citizenry while maintaining the flow of commerce can be a challenging task, and striking the appropriate balance relies upon the use of cutting-edge technologies and extensive cooperation among public and private sectors.
That's what the Maritime Security Expo is all about, and the opportunities are as boundless as our imaginations and our commitment to working together for a safe, secure and successful future.
